CAD Technician – Entry Level
We’re seeking a technically-minded, outgoing, career-focused, make-it-happen kind of person with a good base of experience in CAD to assist in our life safety systems design process.
Position will utilize basic CAD skills to assist our design team in creating code-compliant fire alarm and fire sprinkler designs for permit submittals and as-builts, as well as estimates for sales.
Qualified applicants will have the following skills, experiences, or traits:
- ·Strong computer skills. In addition to CAD or Revit experience you’ll need basic experience in Excel and computers in general.
- Strong organizational skills. This position will organize our active and bid projects in our CRM software by due date and by contractor.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Qualified candidate will be directly communicating with electrical and general contractors on projects.
- Attention to detail.
Job duties include:
- Basic design of fire alarm and fire sprinkler system layouts for bids with direct assistance from design department and sales team
- Organizing bid requests and deadlines in CRM software
- Identify projects through bid drawing sites that will need our products.
- Creation and forwarding of basic bids using templates
- Creation of fire alarm estimates in estimating software
- Review of layouts and estimates with management
- Forwarding of estimates to contractors
- Sales follow up with contractors on estimates
- Assist design department in basic administrative tasks such as plotting plans and submittals, creating close-out packets, mailing, shipping, calling municipalities for water supply information.
